It is with great sadness that we, the family of Frances Currie, announce her passing in Sydney on November 30, 2017.
Born December 27, 1934 she was the daughter of James Cake and Elsie (Hardy) Cake.
Frances was a well-known hairdresser for thirty years and an apartment manager for 20 years.
Frances is survived by three children, Gregory (Edmonton), Valerie (Toronto) and Deborah (Ingonish). She is also survived by sisters, Betty, Joan and Claudia and one brother, Buddy. The family would like to give special acknowledgement to the lifelong friendship and caring relationship Frances had with her special friends, Donnie and Debbie.
She is predeceased by her father, James Cake and mother, Elsie (Hardy) Cake.
Visitation will take place Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 from 12-2 p.m. at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.
Memorial service will take place immediately following at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Sheldon Chant to officiate.
Donations in loving memory of Frances may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
