Abbie moved to Prince Albert where he met Anne working at the Radio Branch at the Airport. After they married, Abbie took his CA. Abbie and Anne raised three wonderful children: Darrell, Randy and Lori. They moved to Emma Lake in 1974 and opened the Emma Lake Trail Rides, Emma Lake Bookstore, Greenhouse and Accounting Services. Abbie loved fishing, quadding, picnicking, golfing, skiing, baking and everything to do with the Lakeland area. He loved spending time with his grandkids and dogs.
