John Murphy

Lieu de décès : Yarmouth, Canada
Date de décès : 6 décembre 2017

MURPHY, John Patrick - Age 89, of Yarmouth, passed away on December 6th, 2017 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. John was an exceptional father, superb grandfather and best-joking great-grandfather a kid could ask for. Accomplishments up the wazoo, like being the longest serving volunteer fireman in Yarmouth's history (62 years), original owner/partner of The Red Night, personnel manager at the Cotton Mill, Fraser Mooney Sr.'s right-hand man during the 'political years', we could go on, but you need to know he was more than that. He was a loving and dedicated husband to Marion 'Cookie' Murphy for 67 years. He was a goof-ball and clumsy but had the intellect and brains of a university scholar. Frugal yet giving, working his arse off for every penny he earned. Loved gardening, golfing, playing cards and going for drives, and spent many of his retirement years travelling the world with "Mare". His family came first. Most of all he was a genuinely kind-hearted, no nonsense guy who lived a good life. He will be so terribly missed by his daughters, (Pam, Judy and Gloria), six grandchildren, (Tasha, Jordan, Candice, Emma, Jesse and Carmen) and his eight great-grandchildren, (Keauna, Ava, Sophia, Angus, Bailey, Madison, Payton and Taylor).
Have a peppermint for us❤️ As per John's wishes there will be no funeral service, but donations can be made to any of the local elementary school breakfast/lunch programs. You may sign the online guestbook or leave messages of condolence for the family by visiting www.huskilson.net
