Donna Olstad (nee Currie)

For those who knew and loved Donna Olstad (nee Currie) I would like to extend thanks and gratitude from Autumn, myself, and our families for the support and generosity that helped us all care for Donna in her final months.

For all those who brought get well wishes, cards of encouragement, company, flowers, treats, gifts for Autumn and food to the hospital and house, we are extremely grateful. These acts made the journey easier for us to bear.

The exemplary care that Donna received at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s, Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook and James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander. Staff made us feel at home and cared for every need that Donna had as well as our needs during our frequent visits. It was your daily compassion that made this difficult journey easier to manage and we felt like family.

I would like to extend my humble thanks to the management and employees of Nav Canada within Newfoundland. It was your generosity and support that allowed me to continue to provide care to both Donna and our daughter Autumn over these past few months. Our families are realizing what a great organization I work for.

I never would have thought I had such an impact on the people here but I am humbled by all that you have done and continue to do.

I finally would like to thank the friends and family that shared in the celebration of Donna’s life both in Gander and Deer Lake and for your donations. The stories shared about Donna will make additional memories.

Your donations will go toward cancer awareness to hopefully spare even one family from loosing a loved one to cancer. Together we will keep Donna’s memory alive within us all.

Our thanks:
Russell and Autumn Olstad
