It is with great sadness that we, the family of John Angus MacIsaac, 83, of Aspy Bay, announce his sudden passing on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Buchanan Memorial Hospital in Neil’s Harbour.
Born in Aspy Bay on May 12, 1934, he was the son of the late Alex and Magdalene (MacNeil) MacIsaac.
As a young man, John moved to Port Renfrew, BC, and began his career in the lumber woods. In May of 1992, John retired and returned home to Aspy Bay. He was a lover of the great outdoors, and spent countless hours tending to his garden, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his brother, Donald (Bunny), Aspy Bay; sisters, Jessie, Florence, and Susie, all of Sydney, and Tena, New Brunswick; and many nieces and nephews, who he loved unconditionally. He is also survived by his best friend and loyal companion, Stormy, who was always by his side.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Ronald, Edward, and Jim; sisters, Margaret and Annie Rita; and two brothers in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and committal will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to Buchanan Memorial Hospital.
Our family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff of Buchanan Memorial Hospital for the care given to John. We will be forever grateful for the compassion and care you provided to John throughout the years.
