TARRANT, Rev. James Edward Sauvé “Bud” – 86, Harmony, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Montreal, Quebec, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Violet (Sauvé) Tarrant. Bud spent a few years working with the Bell Telephone Company, and then in the Navy as an electrician during the Korean War and later as a Protestant Chaplain on the west coast. The majority of his life, however, was spent as a United Church Minister, serving charges in Gaspé, PQ, Dartmouth, NS, Fredericton, NB, Nackawic, NB, St. Stephen, NB, Truro, NS, and New Mills, NB from where he retired in 1996. Bud is survived by his loving wife, Bunnie; daughters, Chris Greek (Bob), Norman Wells, NT; Peggy, Edmonton, AB; grandchildren, Rachael Verville (François), Robbie Greek, Teddy Greek (Carolyn), and Jay Tarrant; great grandchildren, Ryan and Tina Verville, and Riley, Anna, and Lizzie Greek; many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Mae (Ken) McPhatter; brother, Vance (Marilyn) Tarrant. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception will follow. Interment will be held at a later date in Camp Hill Cemetery, Halifax. Family flowers only.
