Martin John Hugh Hanratty
HANRATTY, Martin John-Hugh died peacefully on December 21, 2017. Loving husband to Jeanette (White) and wonderful father to Cassie (James) Miller, London, England and Cian at home. He will also be dearly missed by his siblings, Frances MacCormack, Halifax, N.S.; Laurette (Paul) Moore, St. Catharines, Ont.; Allan (Diane), Sydney, N.S.; John (Diane), Stephenville, NL; Bernie (Brenda), Sydney, N.S.; Pat (Peggy), Smithtown, N.B.; and sister-in-law, Helen Hanratty, Halifax, N.S. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia on Dec. 26, 1944, he was the son of Thomas John and Mary Margaret (MacDonald) Hanratty. He was pre-deceased by his parents as well as brother, Bert Hanratty & brother-in-law, Albert MacCormack. Martin attended the Nova Scotia Eastern Institute of Technology where he served as the Student Union President. Dedicated trade unionist and big man in life whose bright memory will be cherished by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, December 29, 2017 in Osgoode, Ontario.
