It is with great sadness that the family of the late David Calvin (Satch) Guy announce his passing at the Palliative Care Unit in the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 at the age of 75 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories wife of 53 years Betty, sons: David (late Judy), Darren (Joy Moss), Claude (Brandy), grandchildren: Steven (Meghan Laing), Kevin (Amanda), Ashley (Robert Lovell), Andrew (Carolyn Compagnon), McKenzie and Peyton, step- grandchildren: Jasmine (Robert), and Jordan, step-great-grandchild Laurel, brothers: Eugene (Sheila), Gerry (Marion), Larry (Lena), Wilfred (Marilyn), sisters: Joan Dicks, Judy Rumbolt, Diane (Alex) Hatcher, brothers-in-law: Milton Sparkes (Donna Abbott), Bud Sparkes (Lorraine), Leslie Sparkes (Nancy) sisters-in-law: Mary Guy, Merla Guy, Joan Guy, June Sparkes, Doris (Harry) Park, also a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by parents Claude and Rita Guy, infant brother Wilson, brothers: Clarence (Chum), Clifford (Tom), Frank, Claude (Jr.), Kevin Sr Guy, and Jim Guy, brothers-in-law: Peter Dicks, Russell Sparkes and Gerald Rumbolt, sisters-in-law: Mamie Guy, June Shaw and Edna (Sparkes) Affleck; mother and father-in-law Morgan and Monica Sparkes, nephews: Peter Dicks, Jimmy Guy, Robert Guy and Doug Guy niece Catherine Kryski, granddaughter Robyn and daughter-in-law Judy who was buried the day he passed. Visitation will take place at Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake on Friday, January 12th, 2018, from the hours of 7-9 p.m., and continuing on Saturday January 13th, 2018 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place from the Salvation Army Church, Deer Lake on Sunday, January 14th , 2018 at 2 p.m. with Majors Frederick and Louise Pond officiating. Interment to follow at the Deer Lake S.A. Cemetery on Wight’s Road. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
