We, the family, regret to announce the passing of Mary Linda (MacDonald) Reilly, of Sydney Mines, on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Christine (Ames) MacDonald.
Linda is survived by her husband of 46 years, Patrick, and her children, Patrick (Yinet), (Maia), Dartmouth, James (Trina), (Emma, Kaiden, Kiera), Waterdown, ON, Christine (Adam) Curry, (Amelia, Eleanor), Bedford and Joe (Elisa), Halifax. She is also survived by sisters, Ann Frances MacDonald and Christine (Terry) McCormick, (Jessica, Danielle); brother, Charles MacDonald, and special friends John and Bev MacKinnon.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, James.
The Reilly family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, and special thanks to the An Cala Palliative Care Unit.
In keeping with Linda's wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A private family service has been scheduled. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Sydney Mines.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda’s memory may be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton.
