Anne Irene Guillena

Date de naissance : 1er juillet 1921

Date de décès : 8 février 2018

It is with sadness and fond memories that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, at the age of 96, on February 8, 2018. Nan was born in Sydney on July 1, 1921 to the late Clifford and Margaret Couture.
Nan was a life long traveller, gardener and loved a great game of cards. She was a voracious reader. She was very active in the family trophy business. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Nan is survived by son, Joseph ‘Joe’ Jr. Guillena; 12 grandchildren, Cheryl, Sandra, Brian, Bradley, Jody, Clifford, Darlene, Diane, Kevin, Peter, Kerry and Roger, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Nan was predeceased by her parents; husband, Joseph Sr.; sons, Clifford ‘Sonny’ and Gerald ‘Gerry’; daughters-in-law, Elizabeth ‘Bunny’, Myrna and Gwendolyn ‘Gwen’; brothers, John, James, and William, and sister, Doris MacQuinn.
Many thanks to the 4th floor East staff of Northside General Hospital for their compassionate care of Nan.
Visitation will take place this evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. A Celebration of Life will take place Sunday, February 11 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Sheldon Chant to officiate. Light refreshments will be served in the reception area
following service.
Family flowers only, please. If desired, donations may be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, or a charity of choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home.
Messages and memorials may be directed to www.chantfuneralhome.ca.
