BOTTENBERG, Joanna – Dr. Joanna Frances Bottenberg (née Heinrich) on February 8, 2018 at Heartwood Long Term Care at the age of 73 years. Shortly preceded by her devoted husband Dr. Wolfgang Bottenberg (January 16, 2018). Loving mother to Rupert and Philip, both of Montreal, and Frances of North Carolina, and proud grandmother to Aidan and Fiona Price-Bottenberg. Joanna lived a life of courage, passion and beauty, as attested by her life's varied projects - from producing scholarly works on opera and teaching German to high school and university students, to making her own pottery, raising orphaned raccoons and traveling through dozens of countries. She will be missed by many friends in many places. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Donations to Nature Conservancy Canada in Joanna's memory are appreciated.
