Theresa Clarke

Date de naissance : 6 septembre 1945

Date de décès : 19 février 2018

We regret to announce the sudden passing of Tessie Clarke on Monday, February 19, 2018 at home.
Born September 6, 1945, Tessie was the daughter of the late William (Bucky) and Theresa (Hill) Robertson.
Tessie was an avid card player who loved a good game of 45's or scat and a hot cup of tea. She loved animals and her pussy cats were of great comfort and her best company in her final years. Tessie was a former employee of the British Canadian Co-op and she loved her job as well as her customers, both in Sydney Mines and in the Florence locale. Though she had many other jobs over the years, this was where she was happiest, and she had fond memories of her time there.
Tessie is survived by her daughter, Annette (Leo) Gratton, Cold Lake, AB; son, Lawrence (Angeline) Clarke, Dartmouth, NS; daughter, Teri (Mike) Claridge, New Ross, NS and daughter, Cyndi McGean and her husband, Paul McGean, who was her son-in-law but she regarded as a son and a best friend. She is also survived by her grandchildren, of whom she was so proud, John Claridge, BrianPaul McGean, Stephen McGean, Sarah Clarke, and Theresa Clarke, and her special light, Holly Nugent and her special niece, Sheila O'Neil McKinnon and her husband, Brian along with their children, Morgan, Liam and Lauchlan. She also leaves behind two great-grandsons, Liam and Theo and her third great-grandson, due in March, whom she was so looking forward to meeting. Tessie also leaves behind her loving brother, Bill (Dorothy) Robertson of Vancouver and her best friend and sister, Carol Beard of California.
Besides her parents, Tessie was predeceased by her husband, John H. Clarke, the love of her life; her son, John W. Clarke; daughter, Maggianne; along with her brother, Gordie Robertson; sister, Tina McNeil and twin siblings in infancy.
The family would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere thanks to the many VON nurses who provided her with excellent care over the past few years as well as the nurses of the Northside General Dialysis Dept., especially her "Angel" Billy, who was of great comfort to her. Thanks as well to the Northside Homemakers for their care and compassion. We are forever grateful for all you provided to her.
Visitation for Tessie will take place Monday, February 26, 2018, in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Main St., Sydney Mines, from 10 – 11 a.m., with service to follow at 11, with Deacon Greg Murphy officiating.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Feral and Abandoned Cat Society, or to the Renal Department of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Internment will take place at a later date at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Florence. Guests are invited to the Sydney Mines Pensioners Club, Fraser Avenue, Sydney Mines, immediately following the service for a light lunch and celebration of Tessie's life.
Words of comfort may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
Mom, you've earned your rest. Be free, we love you.
