NEW GLASGOW – James Clifford “Jim” Rae, 53, New Glasgow passed away peacefully Thursday, February 22, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with his loving wife by his side.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Clifford Henderson Rae and Sheila Forbes (Fraser) Theriault. Jim worked in production for over 30 years at Michelin Tire Canada Ltd., Granton. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His favorite past time was travelling with his wife, Gwen. He would often state, “travelling is our favorite place to be”. Jim, was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be sadly missed by those who loved him, especially Gwen, who “lost my one true love and best friend”.
Surviving are his wife, Gwen, the love of his life for more than 27 years; daughter, Jo-Anne Montesano, Mieklefield; grandchildren, Sarina (Brett), Kelsey (Ryan) and Jake; brothers; Terrance (Diane), Watervale; John, Truro; nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, February 25th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, February 26th in the chapel with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Gladstone Cemetery.
Special thank you to sister and brother-in law Connie and Mike Ryan and children, Michael, Nichole, Crystal and Emily for their love and support through Jim’s journey. Thank you to Dr. Kwasnik and the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit team. Thank you Phyllis, for making each day a little lighter.
