Helen Marguerite Brocklehurst (nee Moore)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Helen Brocklehurst, in her 85th year. Known to many as “Nanny Candy”. Predeceased by her husband John (Jack) Brocklehurst, twin sons Johnny and Freddy, parents Fred and Kathleen Moore, brothers Bill, Reg and Bob, parents-in-law Charles and Mary Brocklehurst, daughters-in-law Geri, Heather and Karen. She will be forever in our hearts and sadly missed by her loving family: daughters Barbara (Geoff Goodyear), Anna, Paula (Bert Fitzgerald), Tina (Dave Hudson), Jacqui; sons: Peter O’Leary, John (Andrea), Fred, Brock Ballard (David Hull), Todd, Robert (Jackie Johnson); special granddaughter Natasha (Keith). Also 25 wonderful grandchildren: Kim (Chris), Jennifer (Duncan), Aileen (Ryder), P.J., Tanya (Terry), Chad, Matthew, Nicholas (JC), Freddy (Penny), Georgina, Adam (Natasha), Ashley, Scott, Kyle, Erin, Michaela, Tyler, Brett (Vanessa), Aaron, Adrienne (Brandon), Katie, Michael (Shelby), Raya, Zachary and Destiny; nine great-grandchildren: Lucas, Tristan, Gabriella, Daisy, Lily-Jane, Thomas, Molly, Braxton, Luke, Cameron, Adrianna and Jack. Leaving to mourn sisters: Josephine, Marg, Joan, Barbara, Mary; brothers: Ed and Gerald; special son-in-law Craig Butler; special friends - the late Christine and Dennis MacDonald, the late Rose Kearsey, Elizabeth Jackman, and Kaye Foley. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Agnes Pratt Home, South View Floor for their wonderful care of Helen in her last few years. Additionally, a large number of relatives and friends too numerous to mention, but thought of in our hearts. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Lemarchant Road, Sunday, February 25th and Monday, February 26th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass to take place on Tuesday, February 27 at 10 am from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist with cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Alzheimer's Society.

In Helen’s words “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck, a barrel and a heap and I’ll dream about you in my sleep”.
