Passed away suddenly at his home, at St. Vincent's, S.M.B., on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, Bernard Halleran, aged 67 years. Predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Levina Halleran; sisters Rose (Dick) Bailey, Mona (John) Pierce and Ruth Halleran; brothers: Gerald, Phonse and Robert, nieces and nephews: Brenda, Gerry Rodney, Wayne, Chris and Rosalyn, parents-in-law William and Ellen Watson, sister-in-law Theresa (Frank) Gibbons, brother-in-law John Melindy and special Godson Terry Gibbons. Leaving to mourn his devoted and loving wife of 42 years, Carmelita (nee Watson); sisters: Marion Melindy and Edna (Bas) Halleran, brothers Hilary and Nick; sisters-in-law: Anita Halleran, Theresa Halleran, Genevieve (Kevin) Marrie and Claire Watson; brothers-in-law: Jerome (Mary) Watson, John (Geraldine) Watson, Ed (Ellen) Watson, David (Bev) Watson, Jr. Watson and Ray Watson (Mary), Godchildren: Samantha Halleran, Tanya Watson, Godsons Dale and Nigel Gibbons; dear friends: June Fleming, Lloyd Gibbons, Des Hayward, Ted Gibbons and Jim Stamp and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, including his community of friends and co-workers at Polaris Mines, N.W.T., where he worked for 20 years. "Bern" also served as a longtime member of the Operating Engineers, Local 904 and the International Union of Boiler Makers. Resting at Fr. Battcock Memorial Chapel, St. Vincent's on Thursday, March 8, from 6 - 9pm and Friday, March 9, 12 - 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 10, at 10am, at Sacred Heart Church, St. Vincent's. Burial to follow. "Easter Lillies" gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to Sacred Heart Church. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gibbons' Funeral Home, St. Mary's.
