Jane Constance ‘Connie’ Badstuebner

Jane Constance ‘Connie’ Badstuebner, age 78, passed away peacefully at the Baddeck Hospital on April 6, 2018 after a short illness. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Clara (Cameron) Boudreau.
Connie spent most of her adult life in New York where she raised two wonderful sons and carried on a career as a seamstress extraordinaire. She also had a passion for arts and crafts, stained glass, and oil painting.
In 2005, she returned to her beloved Cape Breton where she retired to be with family in Baddeck and start a new chapter in her life. Her new email address contained the letters ADIP, which stood for ‘Another Day in Paradise’, which we now know is even more appropriate for Connie.
She is survived by her sons, Arthur (Ginny) Badstuebner and Michael (Cheryl) Badstuebner of New York; a brother, Damien (Sharon) Boudreau, White’s Lake, and sisters, Verne (Ronald) McIntyre, Baddeck, Jean (Blair) Brown, Howie’s Centre and Gail Boudreau, Baddeck. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.
She will be missed by the many feathered friends she had in Baddeck Inlet. She was a true provider to them.
A gathering will be held at MacAskill’s Funeral Home in Baddeck from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11. Burial will take place in the Mount Carmel Cemetery at a later date.
Donations may be made in Connie’s memory to the SPCA or Cancer Research.
