RAYFUSE, Magdalena “Babe” – Port George, NS passed away peacefully on April 11, 2018, at the age of 86. Babe happily lived the majority of her life in Port George with her late husband, Earle. She was mother to Nancy Herrington (deceased), sister to pre-deceased brother, Joe and is survived by her son-in-law, Ian Herrington and two Grandchildren, Tim Herrington (Janet), Kristen Herrington (Michael), and siblings John Hoogerwerf, Nelly Hirtz and Audrey Slocum. An active volunteer and founder of the Port George Jamboree, Babe was a great contributor to her community. She was a proud member of the NS Liberal Party and enjoyed social fundraisers and functions. Babe had a kind and generous soul, always the first to offer a helping hand. Her compassionate and selfless personality benefited the lives of many. She loved animals, music and took pleasure in the opportunity to play piano for others. She cherished the company of her friends and staff at Crosskill Court nursing home and the generosity of friend and caretaker, Anne Whitman. A celebration of life was held at the Middleton Funeral Home on April 18th from 2-4pm, followed by a burial at Hillside Cemetery, Port George. Donations can be made to the SPCA in Babe’s memory.
