With sadness, we regret to announce the passing of our mother, Catherine Margaret “Cassie” Novak on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, in the Northside Community Guest Home, at the age of 103.
Born March 1, 1915, in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late James and Sarah (Boutilier) Fitzgerald.
Catherine is survived by her daughters, Josephine (Rocky), Betty (the late Robert), Alma (Carl), Norma (Alan); sons, Jim (Sharon), Al (Cristel), Raymond (Leta); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Eli; daughter, Kay; sons, Gerald, Fred and Louie; sister, Mary and brother, John.
There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Saturday, April 28 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery.

Children and grandchildren continue the legacy their mothers begin. Our mother has built a strong legacy that will continue through her children and grandchildren. Rest easy Mom.
