Murray Alexander Bagnell, 70, of Freetown, PE, born in Sydney, NS., passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from a brief battle with cancer at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I.
Murray was married to his best friend and love of his life, Sandra C. Bagnell (Dawe) for 48 years. He was a devoted father to Kelly Bagnell, Kara Lee Jess (David), Leah Connor (Shane) and Scott Bagnell (Bobbi). His six grandchildren, Amber, Ethan, Carter, Jaise, Saphora, Koda, and great-grandson, Lincoln, brought him endless joy. He was raised in a small fishing village called Kennington Cove on Cape Breton Island, this will always be a place of fond memories for his family having spent endless summer days on the beach there. Murray will forever be remembered by the many friends and family he cherished, for his wonderful stories and love of life. Murray found great comfort in the hope found at John 5:28, 29 which will also comfort his family during this sad time.
Murray is predeceased by his father, Alexander Bagnell; his sister, Laura and brother, Clarence.
He is survived by his mother, Olive (MacInnis); brothers, Danny, Walter, Murdock and sister, Florence.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside.
Cremation has taken place. Interment to take place at a later date, at Willow Grove Cemetery, Louisburg, NS.
A memorial will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 20 Taylor Rd., Summerside, PE.
