Marjorie Anne “Marge” Leopold, New Minas, July 13, 1944 – April 25, 2018. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Marjorie was born in Chester Grant to the late Harry and Faye (Walker) Alders. Marjorie loved her family and friends. She was well-known for never letting company go without a cup of tea and some of her delicious baked goods. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a hardworking woman that worked many years in the retail and food services, but never shied away from hard labour such as apple picking or potato harvesting. She was a member of the Kentville Legion where she spent many years playing darts. She also enjoyed long drives, games of chance, baking, her favourite TV shows and spending time with friends and family. She is survived by her long-time companion, Eric Arnburg; children, Terri (James) Brown, Centreville; Cheryl Rogers, Kentville and Tammy Gregory, New Minas; grandchildren, Erin Connell, Clayton (Samantha Hamilton) Rogers and Blake (Elise Snow-Kropla) Brown; great grandchildren, Noah and Ireland; brothers, Russell (Marcia) Alders and Donnie Alders; sisters, Linda (Kenny) Grant, Viola (Eric) McInnis, Marie (Robert) Hatfield, Audrey (Jack) Carter, Harriet (Wayne) Cox, Barbie (Rick Deveau) Alders, Ruby (Timmy) Welton and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Freddie Leopold; brother, Harry Alders and son-in-law, David Gregory. Family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the nurses, doctors and the staff of Medical A at the Valley Regional Hospital who made her last days as comfortable as possible. She truly enjoyed meeting all of you. Thank you to the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville and the Ladies Auxiliary for your generosity during this time. As per Marjorie’s request there was no visitation. A memorial service and reception was held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No.6, River Street, Kentville at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018, Reverend Jack Carter and Reverend Audrey Carter officiated. An intimate sunset committal service was held at 7:00 p.m. that evening in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. Donations in memory may be made to the Carey Me Fund. On-line condolences or inquiries may be directed to www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com.
“Missed by all, may she rest in peace”
