BAXTER, Albert Charles “Abbey” – age 78, Yarmouth, passed away on Friday, April 27th, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Yarmouth, NS, on July 12, 1939, he was the son of the late Freeman and Anna (Allen) Baxter. Albert (“Abbey”) had a passion for sports, especially slow-pitch softball, and whether it was him up to bat, or one of his sons, he spent a huge portion of his life at the ball fields around Southwestern Nova Scotia. He loved going out to his camp on Goose Lake in Barrington, and especially loved to entertain anyone and everyone that came around to “Abbey’s Shack”, where he always had a full fridge of his favorite beverage, Keith’s Beer, to share. He also loved playing Poker and/or watching and cheering on his family playing poker. But most of all, his passion was dancing, and he was thrilled when anyone cared to join him. He loved his family and was so proud of each and every one of them. He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie (Chauvin) Baxter; son, Gary Baxter (Heather); daughter, Anna Baxter Moore (David); son, Brian Baxter (Paula); son, Jim Baxter (Patricia); daughter, Sherry Baxter (David Sheppard) and son, Andy Baxter (Shelley), all of Yarmouth; grandchildren, Skyler Baxter, Courtney Lawrence, Brad Lawrence, Brianne Lawrence, Brooke Nickerson (Billy), Brandi Baxter (Ryan Brown), Jeremy Baxter, Ryan Baxter (Lisa Dudgeon), Kristy Cabral (Luis), Madison Baxter, Taylor Baxter; great grandchildren, Austin Cabral, Aiden Cabral, Megan Baxter, Isabelle Baxter, Autumn Jermmy, Kai Lawrence, Iyla Lawrence, Mason Nickerson, Morgan Nickerson, Stephen Deveau, Gregory Deveau and Richard Doucette.
