Charles Joseph Sauveur

The family of Charles Joseph Sauveur, age 73, of Amherst announce with heavy hearts his passing on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 with family by his side, at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan.
Born in Amherst, he was the son of the late Stephen and Audrey (Doucet) Sauveur.
Charles moved to Montreal when he was 17, where he later married and raised a family, returning to Amherst in 1980.
He was a carpenter by trade and was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He enjoyed darts and softball.
Charles loved spending time at the cottage in Fraserville with his extended family.
He will be missed by his wife of 54 years, Shirley (Clark); sons Stephen (Helen) of Martock, NS and Douglas (Diane) of Amherst; grandchildren Kyle, Joshua, Nicholas and Lea; brothers Bernie (Yvonne), Arthur (Gloria) and Ducky (Pam); sisters Betty (Jim) Nelson, Rose (Rick) Doucette and Pat (Ron) Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Charles was predeceased by brothers Edward and Paul; and sister Carmel.
A celebration of Charles’ life will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 2 – 4 pm held in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, 902-667-9906.
Interment will follow in the Amherst Cemetery.
Donations may be made in Charles’ memory to the Cumberland Regional Health Care Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
