It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear sister, aunt, and friend, Sally Morrison, on June 11 ,2018. Sally passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Born in Quarry, St. Ann’s, Cape Breton, she was the daughter of the late Dan Angus and Margaret (MacDonald) Morrison. Sally worked most of her life as a lab technician at Sydney City Hospital until her retirement in 1999. Sally loved travelling with her co-worker and best friend, Russell Neal. Sally also loved music, painting, and animals, especially her cats. Sally will be sadly missed by her loving sister, Una; brothers, Robert and AJ (Judy); as well as many extended family members. Besides her parents, Sally was predeceased by her best friend Russell; brother-in-law Monty; niece Jane; nephew Barry, and cousin Betty Gillis, who was like a sister to her. The family would like to thank the home care staff for all their years with Sally, Dr. Genge and the caring staff of the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, as well as the staff at Alderwood Rest Home. Special thanks to her Aunt Effie who cared for Sally and made it possible for her to remain at home for many years, and also to Bev for all her love and kindness shown to Sally.
There will be no visitation. The funeral will be held at the Baddeck Gospel Hall on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Goose Cove cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baddeck and Area Cat Rescue. Arrangements are under the direction of MacAskill Funeral Home, Baddeck, NS.
