Perry Warren Ayer

It is with heavy hearts that the family of, Perry Warren Ayer, age 51, of Middle Sackville, NS, announce his sudden passing on June 17, 2018 at the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Amherst, NS, on January 7, 1967, he was the son of the late Leslie & Edith (McLeod) Ayer.
Perry was one of the most generous, caring, and humble men that you would ever meet. He was a dedicated father and was very involved in his children’s lives. Perry was always front row cheering on all of his children with every sport they played, piano recital, and band concert. He was very active in the Sackville Minor Hockey community, and many kids may refer to him as, “Coach Perry.” Perry loved spending time with his family at Amherst Shore. A few of his favourite pastimes throughout life were hunting, fishing, going to the camp, playing hockey and baseball. Perry was an electrician by trade, starting off his working career with Sifto Salt in Amherst, NS and quickly working his way up the ladder with lots of hard work and dedication. He held various Maintenance Management positions. Perry was a loyal and committed Maintenance Manager with Labatt Brewery (Halifax) for 11 years and most recently with Nova Scotia Health Authority as an Assistant Maintenance Manager for over two years. Perry lived a life of integrity and taught his children to do the same. He was a great role model and will be missed by many.
Perry is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Sharron Ayer; loving father of three children, Kirsten (Shaemus) Mullaney, Kelsie (Tyler Gray) Ayer, and Ethan Ayer all of Middle Sackville, NS; three sisters, Nadine (Brian) Brooks of Dartmouth NS, Jane (David) Crocker of Amherst, NS, Trudy (Paul) Black of Lorneville, NS; brothers-in-law, Doug Thompson of Amherst, NS, and Stephen Olsen of Amherst, NS; Mother-in-law Nancy Olsen, of Amherst, NS; as well as several nieces and nephews.
