Agnes Marie ‘Aggie Baby’ GOULD

Agnes Marie ‘Aggie Baby’ GOULD

Date de décès : 20 juin 2018

It is with broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our loved one, Aggie Baby, 62 on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at CBRH surrounded by her loving family.
Aggie was the daughter of the late Susanna (Suzan) Isaac-Gould and Charles Toney-Gould.
She was predeceased by her brother, Carl Gould, and sister, Virginia Pictou.
Family meant a great deal to Aggie. She had a great respect for life and others, and she was very proud of her Mi'gmaw culture. She was a master beadworker who taught many. The community of Membertou recognized her contributions with the Edward Kabatay Memorial Award for Aboriginal Language and Culture.
Aggie began her radio broadcast career on 94.1 Eskasoni radio before moving to Membertou radio 99.9.
Never giving up on finding our missing sister Virginia, Aggie had a profound dedication to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Woman and Girls. Aggie was working on her latest commission, which was an original design of "The Red Dress" before her illness forced her to stop.
Left to mourn is her daughter, Sonja Howard of Bucksport, ME, USA; her son, DJ Howard of Membertou; Aggie's precious grandchildren, Anders Johnson, Evaine Clement and Elora Clement; her brothers, David Gould of Lewiston, ME, USA, Robert Pictou of Terrace, BC, Francis Pictou of Dartmouth, MA, USA and Darrelly Pictou of Caribou, USA; stepfather, Robert Pictou, Sr. of Chapel Island and step-brothers, Robert and Chris Pictou; step-sister, Marie of Afton and Star and Flower of Chapel Island; uncle, Karl Gould of Membertou, as well as large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, June 23 at 3 p.m. in Chapel Island Community Centre, and Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. at her home 140 Membertou St. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, June 25 at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church with Fr. Bill Burke officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Salite will follow the service at the MTCC.
