DOUCETTE, Ernest Henry- age 95, Amirault’s Hill, Yarmouth Co., passed away on June 26, 2018 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Hubbard’s Point on October 7, 1922 to the late Henry and Delphine (Deveau) Doucette. Ernest served his country in WWII with the West Nova Scotia Regiment. Later he was a carpenter by trade and a stationary engineer at the Villa St. Joseph and IMO foods. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 155, Wedgeport. Ernest took pride in being a great friend to Bill W. for 38 years. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Muriel, son John (Myla) Doucette, Amirault’s Hill; daughter, Susan (Ken) d’Eon, Pubnico; grandchildren, Eric and Ryan; brothers, George Doucette, Ronnie Doucette, and Victor Doucette; sisters, Cecile Henry, Annette (Dennis) Duquette, Audrey (Paul) Pothier, Isabelle Durston. Besides his parents, Ernest was predeceased by sons, Gregory and Clifton; daughter, Susan; brothers, Leon, Thomas, Adolphus, Bernard, and a sister, Gertrude. Visitation took place Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. with a Legion Service at 7:30 p.m., followed by prayers at 8:00, all at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held Friday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. from Holy Family Catholic Church, Amirault’s Hill, Father Maurice LeBlanc officiated.
