Jean Lorrainne MacAulay

It is with deep regret that we, the family of Jean Lorrainne MacAulay, announce her death on February 22, 2018, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 41. Lorrainne graduated from Baddeck Rural High School and went on to graduate from St. Mary’s University, Halifax, with a degree in commerce. She moved to Calgary where she worked as an accountant for TransCanada Pipelines for 18 years. Although she spent many years in Alberta, her thoughts were never far from her clan from MacAulay’s Hill and the home of her heart, Cape Breton. Lorrainne is survived by her mother, Jean MacAulay, her sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and Greg Brett, a number of aunts and uncles, many cousins, and numerous friends. She was predeceased by both paternal and maternal grandparents and her father, Wayne MacAulay. A celebration of Lorrainne’s life will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 2 p.m., in Knox Presbyterian Church, 39 Grant Street, Baddeck, NS. Rev. Corrie Stewart officiating. Donations to honour her life may be made to: Victoria County Memorial Hospital, the Crohn’s and Colitis organization, or a charity of your choice.
