Dunphy, Patrick Stephen (1935-2018)

Pat passed away on July 9, 2018 at the age of 83 years in Penticton, British Columbia.
A native of Greasby, England, Pat proudly served in the British Armed Forces. He was stationed in Egypt during the Suez Crisis. He immigrated to Canada as a young man in 1960 and studied community development at Mount Allison and Saint Francis Xavier Universities.
Pat worked in communities across Canada, tirelessly giving his time and energy. He enjoyed immersing himself in different cultures and fought passionately for the causes he believed in.
From the age of nine Pat was an avid cyclist, participating in numerous races and clubs. This is how he eventually met his loving wife Jane in St. Catharines, Ontario. Together they travelled the world sharing numerous adventures.
He is pre-deceased by his daughter Cheryl Dunphy, father Jack Dunphy, mother Aysil Dunphy (nee Dutton), and wife Jane Dunphy (nee Cudmore-Hughes). He is survived by his brother Malcolm Dunphy (Anne), daughters Karen Dunphy (Pete Hackett), Seana Jewer (Trevor), and Patty Jamieson (Geoff), stepdaughter Elinor Matheson (Stephen), and stepson Daffyd Hughes (Andree), as well as seven grandchildren.
Pat’s family and friends will be honoring him in a private ceremony in Annandale, PEI this summer. If you wish to attend, please contact Karen at kdunphybbt@gmail.com for details.
