Little Harbour - Mary Eleanor MacKay, July 17, 2018. Eleanor MacKay, of Little Harbour, passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 17. Born in Norboro, P.E.I., she was a daughter of Ruby and Mayne Stewart. She is survived by brother, Garth Stewart (Brenda), Halifax; sister, Roma Rolfe, Ontario; sons, John (Paem), New Glasgow, and David (Susan), Amherst; grandchildren, Jamie (Courteney), Delaney, and Rainer MacKay. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Paul MacKay, daughter, Lynn, parents, sister, Shirley, brother in-law Cecil, and sister in-law Connie. Eleanor worked at the CIBC bank in Downtown New Glasgow for many years. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow, where the family will receive visitors on Monday, July 23, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will take place on Tuesday, July 24, 10 a.m. at St. George’s Anglican Church with Reverend Falen McNulty officiating. Burial will take place at Floral Hills, P.E.I., on Wed. at 1 p.m. Special thanks to Dr. Marion MacDonald and the VON for their kindness and care. To the Little Harbour Fire Department, Community Center, and her church family at St. George’s Anglican in New Glasgow, we are grateful for your helpful and considerate attention during these last few difficult years.
