It is with great sadness we announce the passing on Eudora Ileen Patterson (Coldwell) on the Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, surrounded by her family and her loving husband of 73 years, St.Clair. Born on November 22, 1927, in Springhill, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late John & Alice (Lewis) Coldwell. As a child she moved with her parents to Avonport. In her teen age years she was a regular foot passenger on the M.V. Kippowa to Springhill. During the Second World War, she worked for the Canadian Red Cross in Wolfville. She also worked at the Wolfville Hospital and for a time was also employed at Acadia University. In 1947, she married St.Clair Harvie Patterson and resided in Hantsport. Eudora was president numerous times of the Ladies Auxillary of the Lucknow Branch 109, of the Royal Canadian Legion, Hantsport and also president of the Kings Daughter’s, Hantsport Baptist Church. Later in life she worked at the Wolfville Nursing Home, in the Kitchen. Eudora loved her family deeply and she instilled honesty and love to all of those she knew. She was a very kind and gracious lady, who would always be there to aid and shelter those in need. She often put her own needs after those she loved. She was soft spoken and always had the right words to say for every occasion. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her. Eudora with her own elegance and grace made our world a better place. Besides her husband, St.Clair; she is survived by her children: Son, John (Linda) Patterson of Hants Border and his son, Kevin (Deloris) and child, Owen (Elizabeth), also great great-granddaughter, Willow; and his daughter, Kimberly “Kim” (Dave) Trottier; Son, Stephen (Marlene) Patterson of Hants Border and their children, Aaron, and Heather (Bobby) Strang and their children Brandon and Christine; Son, Edward (Leona), Windsor/Cartersville, GA and his daughter, Sabrina; Daughter, Lynn Patterson; Daughter, Alice Schofield of Upper Vaughan and her son, Jason (Vickey), and their children, Caleb and Kaylee; and her daughter, Kandace (Mark) and her children, Austin and Andrew; Son, Patrick (Katrina) Patterson, Hortonville and their son, Jamie (Kristan) and daughters, Stephanie (Matt) Haas and Jesse (Zak); Daughter, Patricia (Calvin) Leggett of Upper Vaughan and their children, Ryan (Jessica) and children, Elijah and Natalie; and their daughter, Tera (Chris) Sisco and their children, Alexander Leggett and Colton Sisco. She is also survived by her sisters, Beta Jordan, Newtonville; Annie Bird, Hants Border; Dorothy (Allen) Lowthers, Kentville; and Lolita Crosby, Avonport; sisters-in-law, Jean Coldwell, Avonport; and Gladys Coldwell, Avonport. Besides parents, she was predeceased by son-in-law, David Floyd Schofield; brothers, Charles, William, and David Coldwell; brothers-in-law, Avery Bird, Joseph Jordan, and William “Bill” Crosby; sister–in-law, Fern Coldwell. No visitation by request. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018, in the Hantsport Baptist Church, with Rev. Terry Coldwell officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. Donations in memory of Eudora may be made to Palliative Care of Nova Scotia, the Canadian Cancer Society, the MS Society or any charity.
