It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, brother and uncle, Ralph Alexander MacCormack. Ralph died in hospital in Halifax on July 18, 2018 after recently moving back to the province he loved.
Born in Sydney on April 10, 1952 he was the son of the late Dougie and Ellen (Turner) MacCormack. Along with his eight brothers and sisters he grew up on Kyte’s Hill, Grand Lake Rd. He was a retired member of the Canadian Armed Forces.
Ralph was a person who loved to chat with anyone he met. Kind and charismatic, Ralph could be counted on to help anyone, with a joke, a pot of homemade beans or a hug. An avid gardener, in his later years, Ralph was looking forward to having his own garden at his apartment overlooking the Halifax harbor. A loyal fan, Ralph always knew the score of any Toronto Blue Jays or Leaf’s game, even if they were losing.
Ralph will be deeply missed by his children, Denise (Jamie) Flint and Greg; grandchildren, Ashley and Holly Flint and his former wife, Donna all of Winnipeg. He is also survived by his siblings, Kathryn Cogswell, Albert Bridge, Ellen(Kevin) Batherson, Moncton, John (Dorothy MacLeod), Chester Grant, Lorraine (Kevin Mason), Windsor, Shayne, Dartmouth, James (Joan Mahoney), Halifax and Janet (Bob Keoughan), Courtenay, BC. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Glenda MacCormack, Albert Bridge; his aunts, Edna (Tim) Nearing and Janet House, of Glace Bay; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ralph was predeceased by his brothers, Jerry and Steven and brother-in-law, Philip Cogswell.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate his life will take place on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 12 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 12 Maple St., Dartmouth.
