Mary Evangeline Grant
It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Mary Grant on July 21, 2018 at the QEII, Halifax. Born in Sydney, she is the daughter of the late John and Louise (Hardy) Chipman.
Mary was an usher at the Vogue Theatre, and also worked at the hospital as a cleaner for many years. She loved the Casino and playing cards, she was also a Tops member, and adored most the time spent with her family and friends. Her life was dedicated to her family and taking care of her boys whom she adored.
Mary is survived by her loving sons, Gary, Stephen, Randell (Maryann) and David; sisters, Margaret Mugridge, Lillian Lefriend and Shirley Sheppard, and brother, John. Mary is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and three sisters-in-law.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, John; son, Joseph; brothers, Stanley, Maxwell and Raymond; stepsister, Maryanne; three brothers in infancy, and daughter-in-law, Valerie.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
