Card of Thanks
Stephen J. Campbell
We, the family of the late Stephen J. Campbell, wish to thank the many people who supported Dad and our family throughout Dad’s illness and subsequent passing on May 24, 2018.
We wish to thank the staff of Three West at the Glace Bay Community Hospital for the excellent care Dad received during the months he was a patient, as well as the staff at the Glace Bay Emergency Department, the many EMTs who transported him for appointments and the VON.
To Dr. Mark Ellerker, Dad’s primary care physician, our deepest gratitude for your many years of care and support as well as the guidance you provided during Dad’s final months. Dad also received excellent care from Dr. Siva Thanamayooran and the staff at the Renal Dialysis Unit, Dr. Paul Morrison, Dr. Muhammad Islam, Dr. Michelle O’Neil, Dr. Jeanne Ferguson and the staff at many departments of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital including the ER, CCU and Orthopedic Units.
To our wonderful neighbors, extended family, friends and colleagues your loving support made a challenging time much easier to bear. The phone calls, messages, gifts of food, flowers, Masses, and donations in Dad’s memory from so many of you were overwhelming and greatly appreciated, as were the kind words expressed to us during his illness and after his passing. To Dad’s former students and colleagues, thank you for all the great stories!
To Fr. Anthony O’Connor, Deacon Lorne MacNeil and our parish of St. Anne’s we would like to express our gratitude for your prayers and support. To others who participated in the farewell liturgy, including Fr. Norman MacPhee, Fr. Patrick O’Neill, Fr. Bedford Doucet, the Ladies’ Choir under the direction and accompaniment of Jimmy McNeil, and soloist Linda McNeil, your presence eased our sorrow and was a beautiful tribute and celebration of Dad’s life. We also appreciated the lovely lunch provided by the parish reception committee after the funeral mass.
Thank you to: the readers Keaghan Campbell, grandson, Dr. Gordon Spencer, son-in-law, Diane Campbell, daughter-in-law; the Eucharistic ministers Nancy MacAulay, Betty Dezagiacomo; and the altar servers Bobby Morrison, Jay Bigley and Charlie Rogers. Dad would have also been so pleased to have the presence of the Honour Guard by The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and the attendance of the Retired Teachers’ Association.
To Kenny McGillivary and the staff of McGillivary Funeral Home, we were very fortunate to have you support us through this difficult time. Thank you also to Kollin Weatherbee at Sydney Memorial Chapel for your services.
So many people, so much for us to be thankful for including our awesome husband, father and Poppa;
“His good character and the kindness of his heart won the affection of his loved ones. He was loved by all.”
The Campbell Family: wife, Marilyn, daughters Stephanie, Suzanne (Gordon) and Sara-Lynn, and son Lyndon (Diane, Keaghan, Braedan, Liam).
