Patricia "Patsy" CHIASSON

It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Wife, Sister, and
Friend. On the morning of Saturday, September 22, 2018, Patricia ‘Patsy’ Chiasson, passed away peacefully at home. Patsy leaves behind her loving husband, Bernard ‘Butch’ of 61 years.
Born in Sydney, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Margaret and Raymond Power of 14 Yard, New Waterford.
Mom exemplified the meaning of the word service. In all areas of her life, she was always caring for others. She raised eight children and also helped care for her brothers, sisters, and grandchildren. She never turned anyone away empty-handed at her door and welcomed many people to her table. Patsy worked at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital as a ward clerk for 30 plus years. Her kindness was rewarded with many gifts from staff and patients upon her retirement.
She loved to dance and along with Butch would jive the night away at many New Waterford dances and always saved the last dance for Butch.
Patsy loved the Lord and taught her children the meaning of faith through action. St. Francis motto: "Preach the gospel but use words only when necessary" could be applied to her. Surviving is her loving husband, Bernard ‘Butch’ Chiasson; sons, Darrell (Dawn), Texas, Patrick and Bernard ‘Butch’ Jr. (Janet), New Waterford; Dale, Alberta; Daughters, Noel, Halifax, Doreen, New Waterford and Mary Beth, Florida. She is also survived by sisters, Mary (Ron) Beaton, Donna (Ken) McLeod, Linda and Karen; brothers, Danny (Marina), Raymond (Linda) and Glen.
