It is with saddened hearts we said goodbye to our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Nettie McKinnon Strong, at 97 years old, passed peacefully away at O’Mahoney Manor on September 22, 2018, and was laid to rest on September 25, 2018 at Clarenville United Church. Predeceased by husband, Richard, daughter-in-law, Karen, brothers, Jimmy, John, Monroe, Donald, George, and sister, Edna Stanley. Leaving to mourn, sister, Mima (Lee) Pauley, Montreal, daughter, Janet (Bob) Strong, sons, Dennis (Ivy), Austin, 10 grandchildren: Lisa (Randy) Short, Stacey (Jeff Dalton), Brandi (Bradley) Marsh, Jason, Kim (Bill Bradbury), Debbie (Junior) Howse, Paul, Heather (Dwayne) Dawe, Nancy (Todd) Noseworthy, Stephen, 16 great grandchildren: Makayla, Mitchell, Jordan, Erica, Madison, Stephen, Noah, Tyler, Nikita, Tia, Nicholas, Jenna, Katie, Evan, Jacob and Alex, sisters-in-law, Sarah and Margaret Greening. We would like to extend our thanks to staff of O’Mahoney Manor, Fewer’s, Reverend Mercer, Marie Linthorne, U.C.W. and choir, and all who sent flowers, food, and donations to the United Church. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Thank you for making her “Celebration of Life” a memorable one for all.
