The death occurred suddenly at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, Aug. 27th, 2009, of John Peter Doucette of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 41 years. John was born on April 17, 1968, in Summerside to his parents, Francis and Marie (nee Gaudet) Doucette. Beloved fiance of Beth Thompson and loving stepfather of Jennifer and Stephanie. Also lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Survived by his brother and sisters, Sharon of Charlottetown, P.E.I., Gerry (Charlene), Susan (Tony) Perry, and Rose Kelly all of Summerside, Lisa (Steven) VanderVeen of Margate, P.E.I., and Irma (Donnie) of Drayton Valley, Alta. John was predeceased by his grandparents, Lorraine and John Peter Gaudet and Agnes and Emmanuel Doucette. Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations in John’s memory to the P.E.I. Chapter of the Canadian Paraplegic Association would be greatly appreciated.
