Lieu de naissance : Bell Island, Terre-Neuve, Canada
Date de naissance : 9 avril 1942

Lieu de décès : Trouty, Terre-Neuve, Canada
Date de décès : 4 octobre 2018

It is with great sadness, the family of Violet announce she passed peacefully away on Thursday, Oct. 4th, 2018, after a brief illness at the age of 76 years. Violet is lovingly remembered by her husband of almost 58 years, Harold, as well as five children: Peter (Veronica), Debbie (Leo), Fred (Susan), Rhonda and Boyd (Donna), as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Born April 9, 1942, Violet lived her early years on Bell Island and in Portugal Cove, with her parents and 12 siblings. She married the love of her life, Harold, in 1960 and moved to Kilbride, where they worked, raised their children and were active with their large extended family and multitude of friends. Always ready for an adventure, Violet and Harold spent the second half of their lives in Trouty, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland. There, Violet continued her devotion to her family, including keeping contact with her many siblings who lived across Canada. Violet developed a passion for knitting in the last years of her life and was fondly donating her work to the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre in St. John’s. A special thank you to Dr. Marshall Godwin, CCFP, FCFP, for his care, thoughtfulness and support to the very end, and for the dear friendship with him and his wife Glenda. The family sincerely thanks their family and friends who were ever present with their thoughts, prayers and assistance, and for the visits with Violet at home. We will miss Violet dearly and always love and cherish her. May she rest in peace.
