Cynthia Joan Britten
It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of Cynthia Joan Britten, 58, on October 8, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born in Frechvale, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Martha (Crews), Musgrave. Cynthia was a very loving and kind person, with a smile that could light up any room she walked into. She loved people, and those who were lucky enough to know her loved her too. she worked as a server in many different places including Jabelee’s, Jaspers, Ziggys, Colleen’s Cuisine, the Casino and the Cape Bretoner. She always enjoyed a good laugh and loved being in the company of her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Amy (Musgrave) Archibald; son-in-law, Tony Archibald, and her pride and joy, her grandson, Jett. She is also survived by brothers, Wayne (Gloria), Lou, Gordie (Susan), Joe (Marguerite); sisters, Ollie (Bud) Atkinson, Shirley (Bob) Whitman, Gertrude (Ron) Cumming, Beverly (David) Aker, Gwen (Ernie) O’Neil, Shirley Musgrave Stamper, Anne (Tommy) Leblanc. Mother-in-law Mary Britten; brothers-in-law, Jim (Deb), Paul (Cindy), Allen (Sharon), Ron (Fran); sisters-in-law, Kay (David) Musgrave, Louise Britten, Mable Musgrave and Paulette Musgrave. Besides her parents she is predeceased by brothers, Russell, Gary, Ray; sister, Lenna MacDougall, father-in-law, Elmer Britten; Brother-in-law, Brian MacDougall; sisters-in law-, Phyllis (Nash) Musgrave and Lois (Bobbitt) Musgrave. Visitation for Cynthia will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 4-9 p.m. at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. With a celebration of life to be held the following day, Friday, Oct. 12, at 12 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
