Jessie MacNeil
With sad hearts, we announce the passing of our precious mother, Jessie MacNeil (Peck), 79, of Howie Center, NS on Saturday, October 13, 2018. Born in Sydney, she was predeceased by her husband, Ronald J. MacNeil (2012); her mother and best friend, Mary Effie Peck (Nicholson); Freddie Peck (father) and Nelson Nicholson (stepfather).
She is survived by her sons, Blaine (Adele) and Blaire (Chrissy) MacNeil; grandchildren, Adam (Megan), Blaine (Kim), and Dalton; great-grandchildren, Charleigh and Carter. Blaire and Blaine have always been Jessie's pride and joy. Jessie cherished their love and support in all ways, at all times. Mourning her loss are cousins, Marie Bellingrath and Lexie MacKinnon. Raised with Jessie, they cherished her love and generosity throughout the years...she certainly was the very best Santa. Also, her sisters-in-law, Florence (Neville), Theresa (Kennedy) and Olga (Knowles), who always brought her love and smiles. Jessie will be remembered for her big smile, kind ways, strength and especially, her love of gardening and volunteering. She was active in many societies, especially the Sydney Forks Recreation Center. She worked for many years with Mutual of Omaha. As her health deteriorated, music was a great comfort and she would smile when reminded of square dances in Fourchu with cousins, Fema and Annabelle. Jessie was blessed, and she was a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday, October 19th at 10 a.m., with Rev. Bill Burke officiating.
