Stelma, Janice Muriel, 77, Yarmouth, passed away peacefully with her loving husband at her side in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on October 29,2018. Janice was born April 25,1941 and was the daughter to the late Leighton and Helen (Selvage) Smith. She grew up in Hebron and moved to Ontario in 1959, where she met and married her husband, Walter (Wally) in 1963. She attended college in Ontario and worked as a medical secretary for over 25 years. In 1992, Janice and Wally moved back to Yarmouth where she was an active volunteer at the Yarmouth County Museum and Archives. She is survived by her husband Wally; sister in law Mary; as well as several nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents she was predeceased by her father and mother in law Fred and Nettie; sister Marilyn, sister in law Sophie; brother in law Mike and nephew Wayne. Cremation has taken place and a family graveside service will be held at a later date from the Arcadia Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Memorial donations may be made to the Yarmouth County Museum and Archives or the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation.
