The death occurred peacefully, with family at his side, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown on Monday, November 12, 2018 of John “Johnny” Gallant, beloved husband of the late Patricia “Pat” Gallant (nee Doucette), of Oyster Bed Bridge, age 69. Johnny was the loving and devoted father of Jeffrey; and grandfather to cherished grandchildren, Autumn and Tyler. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Carl (Mary Lee), Wayne (Valerie), Tim (Wendy), Jean Axworthy (John), Joyce Gallant (Brian) and Lisa Profitt (Dan); special niece, Rhonda Gallant; special friends, Toni Rapponi (Jack), Tony Gauthier, Kent Ford and Dwight Doucette; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. Besides his wife Pat, Johnny was predeceased by his parents, Angus and Frances Gallant; parents-in-law, Aubrey and Mary Doucette; sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda Gallant, Doreen Ford, William, Earl and Harvey Doucette; nephews, Robert, Wayne, and Shawn Ford; Kevin Gallant; and Wade and Josh Doucette; and niece, Debbie Doucette. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Rustico, on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Augustine’s Cemetery. If so desired, donations in Johnny’s memory to the P.E.I. Cancer Treatment Centre or St. Augustine’s Cemetery would be appreciated.
