William Austin ‘Willie’ MacIntyre

William Austin ‘Willie’ MacIntyre died November 17, 2018 at the age of 75. He passed in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Willie was a well-known mechanic, one of the best. He loved going to the dances and enjoyed fast race cars. Willie was a very dedicated family man, family meant everything to him, and they all loved him dearly.
William was born in Sydney, NS, the son of the late Donald MacIntyre and Catherine ‘Kaye’ (Pine) MacIntyre-Beaver, of Mira Road.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Irene Clarke, and her children, Ron (Jennifer), Troy, Barbara (Jody), Shauna (Dwayne); grandchildren, Stephen (Debra), Robert, Ryan, Samantha, Jeffrey, Crystal, Briauna, and great-granddaughter, Alice. He is also survived by his sister, Louise Glasgow; brother, Kevin (Darlene) Beaver; sister-in-law, Sandra MacIntyre; brothers-in-law, Finley Sampson and Alec Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Willie was predeceased by his sisters, Phyllis and Ruthy; brothers, Allister and Donald, and brother-in-law, Raymond Glasgow.
Visitation for Willie will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. With celebration of life to be held the following day, Wednesday, November 21, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Willie's honor to The Cancer Society or to Palliative Care.
