Date de naissance : 12 octobre 1922

The Russell-Batey family regrets to announce the passing of Lois Ora Batey. Lois was born in Port Union, NL on October 12, 1922. Her family were leaders in the Newfoundland cod industry and owned the Bonavista Cold Storage Company. As a young woman, she enjoyed tennis and swimming in Holyrood. As a strong believer in education, Lois supported her husband as he took a leadership role in the creation of Camosun College. The family went on sailing trips around Vancouver Island and visited Newfoundland during the summers. She was a very involved grandmother and cared for her grandchildren (and grand-puppies) often. Lois suffered bad back pain throughout her life but maintained her optimism and warmth towards those around her. Lois passed away Nov 18, 2018 in Douglas Care facility in Victoria B.C. She will be missed by her daughters, Ann and June, grandchildren, Paul and Julia, great-granddaughter Amara and remaining siblings Paul and Ruth.
