Peacefully at Hillsborough Hospital, on Thursday, January 10, 2019, the death occurred of Leanne Newell of Charlottetown and formally of Glenfinnan, aged 61 years. Much loved cousin of Carol Chipman Francis (Michael) and cherished niece of Judy Chipman, Arlene Gillis, Bernie Gillis, Adele Gillis, Gary Chipman, Ben Bos, Jackie and Fern Newell (Ont) and Jeannie and Don Strong (Ont). Dearly loved, tenderly cared for and sadly missed by her "Hillsborough Hospital Family". Also left to mourn are many cousins both on and off Island. Leanne was predeceased by her loving parents Ralph and Joan (nee Gillis) Newell along with several Aunts and Uncles. Resting at the Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave Stratford for visitation Wednesday January 16, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday January 17, 2019 in the Stratford Chapel of the Hillsboro Funeral Home at 4:30 p.m. Interment will take place later at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations to Hillsborough Hospital specifically to benefit staff and patients would be greatly appreciated.
