51 years of age, of Mount Pleasant, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Sydney she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Irene (Martin) Lynk. Darlene was born and raised in Big Ridge Nova Scotia. Darlene was a home care worker for New Dawn in Sydney, NS. Later she worked at Tim Hortons in Oxford. Darlene was a big Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan. She loved her family and friends and spending time with them. She also enjoyed playing bingo. She will be sadly missed by her children, Linda Lynk of Sydney, NS, Brad Lynk of Oxford, NS, Tammy Lynk of North Sydney, NS, Kevin Lynk of Oxford; several grandchildren; sisters, Diane Preshyon of Edmonton, AB, Margie Lynk of Mira, NS, Sadie Bissonnette of Port Hawkesbury; brother John Philip Lynk of Sydney, NS; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her companion, Gerald Hastings. Arrangements are under the care and direction of W. Allen Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, NS (902-447-2167). No Visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 2 p.m.
