Murial Clare MACCALLUM

Age 89, North River, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Glenholme, she was a daughter of the late George and Jessie (Wyllie) Weatherby. Muriel attended Normal College in Truro and taught in one room school houses. Muriel and Murray started MacCallum’s Produce in 1976 and she was the book keeper into her 80s. They enjoyed bowling for over 50 years, playing a game of cards and their cottage at Brule Shore for many years. Muriel was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by her children, Gerry (Ginger), Lorna (Mike) Cox, Roger (Karen), Greg (Kenda); step daughter, Judy (David) Ettinger; grandchildren, Krista (Shane) Holman, Holly (Matt) Whitty, Jeffrey (Tasha) Cox, Tyler (Shauna) MacCallum, Darcy MacCallum, Nick (Robyn) MacCallum, Matthew (Dayna) MacCallum, Connor MacCallum; great grandchildren, Macayla Cote, Mason and Lia Holman, Clara and James Whitty;and Declan MacCallum sister-in-law, Joyce Weatherby; brother-in-law, Keith Roberts. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Murray Donald MacCallum; sisters, Willa Bigney, Georgie Roberts; brother, Lorne Weatherby. Special thanks are extended to the VON, Palliative Care Team (CEHHC), “NFLD Ladies” and the 3rd floor Medical Unit (CEHHC). All are welcome to join us for a graveside service at 1p.m., Friday, May 3, 2019, at Bible Hill Cemetery, Warren Drive, Bible Hill. If so desired, donations in Muriel’s memory to Bible Hill Cemetery or Canadian Blood Services are welcomed.
