Kenneth Tutty, age 87 years of Glace Bay passed away March 3, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late James Elias and Phoebe Jane (Sams) Tutty.
Kenneth started in the coal mines at the age 14 years, where he worked until his retirement. He worked in the Caledonia Colliery, # 20, #26, and the Lingan Colliery. Kenneth always enjoyed doing his own yard work, his own mechanic work, going to the beach, and taking regular Sunday drives. He especially enjoyed doing his own carpentry work as he built the very house that he and his wife shared for almost 59 years.
Ken is survived by his wife, Victoria Alice (MacDonald); sons, Vincent (Pamela), James (Tehranna), Terrence (Vanessa); daughter, Jane (David) Aucoin; step-daughter Dianne (Terry) and sister, Shirley (Gerald). Kenneth is also survived by his grandchildren, Brad, Michael, Terry, Crystal, Kenny, Amanda, Robyn, Coady, Victoria, Kaitlyn and Alyssa; great grandchildren, Katie, Jace, Conner, Michael, Brady, Lucas, Arianna, Kayla, Sophie and Kaiden, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Kenneth was predeceased by his brothers, Melvin and Jack; sisters, Cora, Rita, Anna and Dolena; step-sister, Olive, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday March 7, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199).
Funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Friday March 8, 2019 in the funeral home chapel. Reception to follow.
