Marlene (MacKay) (Malcolm) LeBlanc

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of our dear wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at home. Marlene LeBlanc age 68, of Alder Point, formerly Marlene Malcolm of Grantville. Born in Ontario, Marlene was the daughter of the late Richard MacKay.
Marlene was employed for many years at Joyce’s Motel & Cottages in St. Peter’s. She could often be found singing karaoke surrounded by her family and friends with a glass of her favorite wine, “Spumante”. She loved going dancing at the legion “the wrinkle room”, where she met many of her friends. Mom loved the simple things in life, her family meant everything to her, she loved her home and her most recent joy in life was traveling around in their camper visiting different places with her husband Kevin.
Marlene is survived by her loving husband, Kevin LeBlanc, Alder Point; her mother, Gail MacKay, Port Hawkesbury; her children, Laurel (Stephen) Parker, Dartmouth; Amanda (Michael) Cunningham, Hamilton Ont.; Kenny (Dustin) MacAulay, Halifax; her grandchildren, Ashton Malcolm, MJ Cunningham and Sasha Cunningham; step-son, Kevin (Kara) and their children Andrew, Kailyn and Lincoln, Sydney Mines. Her siblings, Robert “Bobby” (Jessie) MacKay, Springville; John Mark MacKay, Port Hawkesbury; Laurel Sampson, Port Hawkesbury; Dawn (Peter) Delorey, Port Royal; Vicky Baker, Port Hawkesbury; Sally (Donald) Stewart, Port Hawkesbury and Gail Marie MacKay, Kitchener Ont., numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, William & Kathleen MacKay; her maternal grandparents, Sally & Charlie Kowalski; father, Richard MacKay, her late husband, Albert “Allie” Joseph Malcolm and her brother, Charlie Rogers.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home,
724 Granville St., Port Hawkesbury. Funeral Mass will be 11 a. m Wednesday, April 3, from St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, Lower River Inhabitants, with Father Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial at a later date. A reception will be held in the Riverdale Community Centre following the Mass. Family flowers only, please. Memorial donations may be made to the Autism Society of Nova Scotia or the Diabetes Association. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com.
