Rhoda May MACNEIL (MacPhee-Stonehouse)

MacNeil (MacPhee-Stonehouse). Rhoda May 89, Bible Hill, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Williamsdale, Cumberland. Co., she was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Charlotte (Ripley) Langille. Rhoda worked for many years as a sewing machine operator for Stanfield’s Ltd, Truro. She was a member of St. David’s United Church, Bible Hill, and a lifetime member of the Hannah Unit of the U.C.W. She was an avid bowler and golfer at Mountain Golf Course and loved to dance and play cards. She also loved to skunk John in a game of crib. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, John Henry MacNeil; step-son, Tom (Lynn) of Middleton, Annapolis Co.; step-daughters, Cathy (Bunny) of Milford, Fern (Paul) of Ottawa; grandchildren; step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brother, Herman (Margaret) Langille of Valley; sister, Dorothy Beebe of Wentworth; daughter-in-law, Brenda Black of Debert; sister-in-law, Joyce Langille. She was predeceased by her son Peter Black; brothers, Neil, Orman, Ronald, Gerald, Keith; sisters-in-law, Josephine, Florence, Judy, Gloria; brother-in-law Don.
Arrangements are under the care of Mattatall Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, from where visitation will take place on Thursday evening from 7-9 pm. and where funeral service will take place on Friday, April 26th at 2 pm. Reverend Donna Lawrence will officiate with burial at a later date in Bible Hill Cemetery, Bible Hill. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to St. David’s United Church.
