On Friday, July 26, 2019 in her 91st year, Joyce Gertrude LeClair (nee Gallant) passed away peacefully with family by her side, at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre, Charlottetown. Born in North Rustico, she was the eldest daughter of the late Frederick and Marion Gallant. Joyce is survived by her sons, David (Candice), Carl (Lynne), Terry (Margaret), Charles (Barb), Ronnie (Wanda); daughter, Gisele Ryan (Gerard); grandchildren, Tony (deceased), Amy, Cara Lea, James, Marc, Joshua, Aaron, Kevin, David, Josie and John; and great-grandchildren, Jacy, Ruby, Harper, Logan, Kyle, Daniel, Simon, Harrison, Thomas and Callie. She is also survived by her sisters, Noreen Down and Janet Gallant; brothers, Paul (Judy), Walter (Noreen) and Merlin (Brenda); and many good friends. Joyce was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Ferdinand “Fred” LeClair; son, Roger; grandson, Tony; sisters, Marjorie, Marina and Ida; and brothers, Bert and Charlie. Joyce was a prominent member of her community and served in many capacities. Special thanks to the Palliative Care Centre for their care and compassion. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Sunday, July 28, 2019, from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico on Monday, July 29, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Stella Maris Cemetery.
